The New BTS
Bulletin Board and Classified sections are now active, this improved
system will help with the recent problems with scammers and rogue traders.

The BTS everyday increases its membership, these are not just UK
but we have an increasing International membership base. To
facilitate this the BTS are pleased to announce the introduction of
Scott Scher and Michael Jacobi in the new BTS Committee positions as
North American Representatives' both will be responsible in the
promotion of the British Tarantulas Society in the USA.

The BTS Classifieds section has now moved the to the BTS forum
you can read all the
information here. Traders and dealers please support this
area and give something back!.. Most of the proceeds from the
subscriptions will go to the various conservation and research
projects the BTS are running or plan to launch in the new year.

today, only to resurrected as a new more powerful and functional board. We hope

is now up and running, the old store will be removed shortly so

Carl and Su Portman at the BTS AGM tended their resignation from
the BTS committee, Carl's huge work load and continuing commitments
in other areas, has meant they cannot give their full attention to
BTS matters, both will remain BTS Members. The Chairman & Committee thanked
them for all their hard work and dedication during their time on the
committee they will be sorely missed. Both contact emails for Carl
and Su have been deactivated.

The BTS launch the -
BTS Overseas Research Grant to fund and encourage research into
the taxonomy, distribution, behaviour, morphology and the
conservation of the Theraphosidae in developing countries.

BTS Expo, just around the corner and this year was looking
cramped with our second hall unavailable to us due to building work.
However we have now been allowed to use the hall, so its going to be
a great show and plenty of space.

BTS Members site. The PDF version of the new journal is
available to download on the members area. Also for non member who
have always thought about joining the BTS but have never got round
to it, why not download a free copy and see what your missing.

BTS Members site, the new codes which are found in Volume 21
number 2, are now active, previous volumes codes are disabled. The
PDF version of Vol21 No2 will be up shortly for download.

The new BTS Classified section is up and running, this new
classified section requires users to register thus hopefully
preventing a great deal of useless and spam adverts which have
plagued the Bulletin board, guestbook and forum. A banner
advertising system is in place on this section and anyone wishing to
use this, should contact me for details. The Bulletin board will run
along side the classifieds section until everyone is use to the new
area. -

The codes for the members area have been updated to the ones
found in Volume 21 number 1. All other codes have been discontinued.

We are please to announce that 2006
sees a mile stone in the British Tarantula Society's history,
with the production of our first full colour journal. No longer will
you have to read through the pages to see the colour plates in the
middle section. Volume 21 number 1 is packed with articles with full
colour images and line art from cover to cover! This could not have
been accomplished without the support of you our membership and the
hard work of the dedicated committee. Also worth noting is the
efforts of our illustrious Editor - Richard Gallon. -

Since 1999 the BTS has been running a breeding survey on this
site, we are about to start collating this information for display
on this site. If have not used this survey form and you have bred
any species of tarantula, please help us to help you and post the
results of these breeding's. It does not matter if you were
unsuccessful, this all helps in the long run.
